English Consort Songs for Voices & Viols by Byrd & Gibbons

Alchymy Viols with Samantha Arten and Arianna Aerie (soprano soloists), Stephanie Hunt (viola da gamba) & David Sinden (chamber organ)

Early Music Missouri welcomes Alchymy Viols, one North America’s premiere viol consorts, for a program of late 16th- and early 17th-century music by English composers Orlando Gibbons, William Byrd, John Bull and others. The concert features consort songs for voices and viols as well as instrumental works for various combinations of violas da gamba. Alchymy Viols will be joined for this concert by Stephanie Hunt, viola da gamba; David Sinden, organ; and a vocal ensemble including soprano soloists Samantha Arten and Arianna Aerie.
