A small early music ensemble performing 17-century music

Lenten Lessons by

Charpentier and Clérambault

A seasonal concert of moving Lenten Lessons by two 17th-century French masters. Composed for a unique ensemble of three female voices, these works were sung during Holy Week in 17th-century Parisian chapels and churches. Their austerity evokes the darkness of the sacred season while their sheer beauty points to the joys of the Easter Season.
